Description: Four residential flat
buildings, varying in height from 6 storeys to 3 storeys over basement
parking (59 units)
Voted for: Clrs Curtin, Cassidy,
Perry, Murray (Labor); Crs Tadros & Ghamraoui (Liberal); Clr Saddick
(independent)
Clr Le Lam was absent from meeting, and Cr Hua (Unity)
declared an interest in the matter and did not vote.
Voted for deferral (and return of
amended plans to council to prove that amended plans are satisfactory:
Clr Simms (RAGAA), Cr Appleby and Cr Balendra.
Our concerns include: floor space ratio is 50%
greater than that allowed under the development control plans; height
stated as 5 storeys max, yet appears to be 6 as bulk of basement at
Queen St is above ground level; is in a residential area, with
buildings built to the footpath i.e. no front yard; neighbouring
houses on Susan St lose most of their sunlight; most of common
courtyard appears to be receiving little sun; traffic issues not
addressed appropriately; no certainty that amended plans called for as
a result of the council resolution will resolve all the issues.
Question as to amount (if any) of 'public benefit'
