Approved Development Applications of Concern
Station Road Rawson Street, Auburn
(Old Police Station) |
Suburb: Auburn
Address:
Cnr
Station Road / Rawson Street (old police station site)
Approved: 2001
Status: Built
Description: 7 storey… one
level commercial & 6 storeys of flats
Voted for: Cr Bala Balendra, Kim Appleby, Mohamed Saddick
(Independent), Michael Ghamraoui, Michael Tadros (Liberal), Le Lam & Minh
Hua (Unity)
Voted against: Cr Irene Simms (RAGAA), Chris Cassidy, Pat
Curtin, Robert Murray & Barbara Perry (Labor)
Our concerns include: traffic concerns; blocks of flats alongside
receive NO sunlight during winter solstice; lack of environmental
initiatives within development…eg residents will have to keep their windows
closed to minimise noise from traffic; outside council's code eg height,
distances from adjoining properties; neighbouring properties are limited in
height to 3 storeys; recommended for refusal by town planner |

November 2006: The completed development. Clearly outside Council's height code.
Note the flats within the roof. |
|

October 2003: Whole of site cleared. Developers have commenced building. |
