Description: Most of site currently vacant land. DA is for part 8, part 9 storey mixed use development with 7 commercial tenancies and 89 units over 2.5 levels of basement parking . 70 x 2 bedroom and 19 x 3 bedroom units.
Our concerns include: This site sits adjacent to St John's primary school. The suitability of such a high, dense development, which can cause overlooking of the school and also extends the commercial area beyond the current boundary is a concern.
Status: Information report presented to Council 7 December, 2011. JRPP members, Clrs Attie, Au and Michels declared an interest and left the chamber. Voted for approval (as recommended by town planners): Clrs Oueik, Anmak and Lam Voted for refusal: Clrs Curtin, Di Paolo and Simms (RAGAA). Recommendation for approval carried on the casting vote of the mayor. Approved by Joint Regional Planning Panel (JRPP) 9 February, 2012.
