Voted against: Clr Simms (RAGAA), Clrs Curtin & DiPaolo (Labor), Lam (Independent) Note: Clrs Au (Unity) and Michels (Greens) were absent.
Approved 10/8/2011 on the casting vote of the mayor, Clr Oueik
Our concerns include: Council set a specific height limit of 6 storeys for this block when adopting the Auburn Town Centre strategy. Ironically, it was Clr Attie and Anmak who were the mover and seconder of the motion (May 12,2010) At 9 storeys, this development far exceeds Council's preferrred height for the area. Concerns raised re affect of the development on medical precinct across the road, and on Trinity Catholic College, which is to the immediate north of the site; that the density is excessive for the area; that there is a high number of single aspect units (21 of 53) and that the interface of the R2 and B4 zones needs more sympathetic development.
