Approved Development Applications of Concern
Cnr. Marion St/Kerr Pde/Queen St

Suburb: Auburn
Address: Cnr Marion Street / Kerr Pde / Queen Street
Approved: 2001
Status: Built
Description: 5 storeys flats (80 units)

Voted for: Cr Bala Balendra, Kim Appleby, Mohamed Saddick (Independent), Michael Ghamraoui, Michael Tadros (Liberal), Le Lam & Minh Hua (Unity)

Voted against: Cr Irene Simms (RAGAA), Chris Cassidy, Pat Curtin, Robert Murray & Barbara Perry (Labor)

Our concerns include: many units smaller than council’s minimum size requirements; 24 units receive poor sunlight; no natural light to most kitchens, laundries and bathrooms; flat development is limited to 3 storeys; large, bulky buildings; recommended for refusal by town planners..a similar application for this site was previously refused by the land and environment court.

View of site from Kerr Pde/Marion St intersection. Grey coloured flats alongside will suffer from overshadowing, due to loss of sunlight from higher building on this site.

Kerr Pde view of development site. Rubbish on the street already, and the flats aren't even built yet!  Building on site is now demolished.
