Delegated to general manager for approval, subject to certain conditions,
including reduction to 43 townhouses (3/12/2003)
Description: demolition of dwellings on site and construct 49 town
houses, with parking for 87 motor vehicles.
Voted for: Cr Saddick (Independent) , Crs Curtin, Cassidy and Murray
(Labor), Cr Tadros (Liberal), Cr Lam (Unity)
Voted against: Cr Simms (RAGAA), Cr Balendra (Independent)
Our concerns include: A number of buildings are on irregular shaped
blocks. A previous application was refused by Council and also the Land &
Environment Court. This development has been given 'in principal' approval
by the council. We feel that a full assessment should have been made on the
amended plans and this report should have been brought back to a full
council meeting for approval, or refusal based on the 'merits' of the
development. There has been considerable objection by the community to this
massive development. |
