Description: Staged development containing 127 dwellings, from 2 to 4 storeys in height. Is under control of Minister for Planning under SREP24 (Homebush Bay area). 4 storeys is to match height of existing industrial buildings in area. Application is by Meriton.

Our concerns include: There has been a large push by people from Silverwater to stop flat development in their area. Council currently has a LEP, back-zoning the area east of Silverwater Rd from 2c (flats) to 2b (town houses and villas)..ie 2 storey maximum development. This development jeopardises the intent of this back-zoning.


November 2006: A view of one side of this large development, which was approved by the Minister for Planning. It clearly shows the height of the development well above that of the adjacent industrial buildings. This flies in the face of the wishes of the residents of Silverwater.

June 2004: This development was approved by the State Planning Department. Flats are no longer allowed in Silverwater East.
