Approved Development applications of Concern:
1 Amy Street, Regents Park |
Suburb:
Regents Park
Address: 1 Amy St
Approved: 5 June 2002
Status: Built.
Description: 4 storey 5 shops/offices at ground level with 42
units above
Voted for: Crs Kim Appleby, Bala Balendra, Mohamed Saddick
(Independent), Michael Tadros & Michael Ghamraoui (Liberal), Le Lam &
Minh Hua (Unity),Chris Cassidy, Pat Curtin & Robert Murray (Labor),
Voted against: Cr Irene Simms (RAGAA),
Cr Barbara Perry was not present for this decision.
Our concerns include: development in Regents Park is restricted
to 3 storeys; development is at roundabout near pipeline; approval was
given on the grounds of 'public domain' benefits to the community, yet
those offered seem to be far less than what was offered in previous
application, which was approved with 4 shops and 15 flats. The site now
includes the old post office site and car park.
Labor Party supported the refusal of the previous application at this
site, yet seemed to have a different opinion with Cr Perry absent. |

November 2006... The completed four storey development, built in an area which at the time was restricted to 3 storeys.

June 2004... various views of the development. |
